A graph to describe the sonic characteristics of preamplifiers

January 2008: This graph is still very much in-progress. We will be adding more mic preamps as time allows. Ideally, this graph should run horizontal instead of vertical, but limitation of space and writing the names of the preamps neccesitates the information be presented vertically. At this point, anyway. Maybe we'll flip it on its side when it's closer to being finished. Feel free to tip your head or rotate your monitor 90 degrees...

The red value boxes and associated numbers are assigned a grade throughout the graph. 1 being transparent, and through to 10 being very colored. This is a proposal project to allow for assigning number values indicating the general level of transparency/color to any preamplifier.

There is a topic for this mic preamp graph at Studio Forums.
